The Village is seeking to hire a full-time Police Records Clerk in the Police Department. The person in this position works under the general supervision of the Deputy Police Chief of Services.
The person in this position will be an integral member responsible for preparing the department’s payroll, accurately updating, and maintaining the Police Department’s files and automated records. Interacting and providing information to the public via in-person, e-mail, correspondence, and telephone. Essential duties include the ability to analyze data to prepare reports and correspondence. In addition, an essential function will include accepting fees for citations while maintaining the integrity of cash funds, and performing other related duties as directed.
The successful candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one to two years of experience working with Microsoft Office products, telephones, and office equipment. Work experience with payroll or other types of relatable financial work is required. Should have at least one to two years of experience with New World Records Management System or other types of police computer record management systems; knowledge of MUNIS financial software is a plus, but not required. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, good judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to multi-task under time constraints. Also, the candidate must be able to prepare reports from statistical data, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and good interpersonal skills when dealing with the public. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Compensation and Benefits
The 2023 salary range is $53,620 to $71,153 with a starting salary dependent on qualifications. The
Village offers excellent benefits which includes participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund
(IMRF), medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, and voluntary participation in a deferred
compensation program (457 plan), and paid time off.
The selected candidate will receive a conditional offer of employment which is contingent on the
