Description/Duties:
Performs various routine park clean-up maintenance tasks.

Essential Functions:

Perform routine park clean-up maintenance tasks.
Perform routine park maintenance functions to include, but not limited to, debris cleanup, garbage removal, picnic table delivery, and graffiti removal.
Operate park district vehicles and small equipment as assigned.
Operate high risk equipment such as heavy machinery.
Prepare status report of assigned tasks on assignment checklist/work assignment form.
Assist with equipment maintenance, tool upkeep, and work area housekeeping.
Handle hazardous chemicals.
Construct, install, maintain, and repair site amenities including, but not limited to, bleachers, benches, signs, fencing, picnic tables, grills, and trash receptacles.
Assist with preparation of project work schedules.
Assist with district snow removal operations, including plowing, blowing, shoveling, and salting of walkways and parking lots.
Assist with landscape, playground, and horticultural maintenance.
Monitor inventory of park clean-up supplies.
Maintain communication with customers and staff.
Respond to public inquiries and channel as needed to appropriate staff.
Attend department and park district meetings and in-house training sessions.
Conduct self in accordance with the policies and procedures as established by the park district.
Participate in park district safety and training program to ensure that work performed and services provided are implemented in a safe manner.

Qualifications
Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.
Additional training or education related to duties and responsibilities or position preferred.

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years of related park clean-up experience preferred.

Knowledge:

Park clean-up, landscape, horticulture, playground, and mowing operations and use of equipment. Snow removal operations and use of equipment.

License/Certification:

Valid driver’s license required.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification required within one (1) year.

Hours:

April-October:
Saturday & Sunday 6:00am-12:30pm
Monday, Tuesday, & Friday 7:00am-4:30pm

November-March:
Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

40 hours/week. Must be available to work weekend and evening hours as needed. Position requires on-call availability for emergency repairs.
