Will County Executive Office
The internship provides real-world experience in supporting the current Real Estate Tax Software System that was developed on the IBM iSeries platform. The internship also provides experience in supporting other programs that support County operations. Analyze, Design, and Develop software programs and applications on the IBM iSeries Platform, utilizing the full suite of iSeries languages and tools, such as COBOL/400, CL/400, SQL/400, DB2/400, SDA and STRQRY. This position will work closely with other members of the programming team to help implement technical solutions. Also, work independently to investigate and determine causes of reported application issues and implement corrective solutions. This position will be working with iSeries hardware such as printers, print writers, and tape drives. Other duties as assigned. This position reports to the ICT Director.
Must currently be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science or information management. Knowledge of programming languages (Either COBOL, RPG, Java, Visual Basic, C#, C++, or .Net) and Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, or similar software. Exceptional customer service skills with a problem-solving attitude are required.
$20.00/hr., Non-exempt
BENEFITS: Under the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act (PLFAW) one (1) hour of vacation for every 40 hours worked will be available after (90) days of employment.
