Will County Executive Office

Conducts inspections, examines, and evaluates data and information related to new and existing buildings, signs, structures, and the associated properties to enforce conformance to the adopted Will County, Illinois building and zoning ordinances, codes, regulations, and laws; specifically, these in inspections, examinations, and evaluation of data and information are made to determine compliance, eligibility, or liability pursuant to: The Will County Zoning Ordinance and related ordinances; the International Property Maintenance Code and other codes referenced therein; and the Will County Nuisance ordinance.

High School diploma or equivalent, with related post-secondary course work preferred. Minimum of (3) years Housing, Code Enforcement, or Zoning related experience. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License. Must be able to read, comprehend, retain, and interpret information in the Will County Zoning Ordinance and related ordinance, the International Property Maintenance Code, other codes referenced therein, and the Will County Nuisance Ordinance. Must be able to give verbal testimony in a court of law. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills required. Must have the ability to visually and physically complete the required inspections of non-transverse and transverse sites including new, existing, construction in progress, structures, and related property including but not limited to basements, open crawl spaces, and exposed foundations.
