Sunny Hill Nursing Home
Under general supervision, serves meals to residents and performs sanitation duties in work areas. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food, cleaning equipment utilized in the kitchen/dining areas, cleaning the food service areas, and assuring resident safety. Work is performed under the supervision of a Kitchen Manager, Kitchen Supervisors, and Cook.
· Serves food and assists residents, excluding the actual feeding of residents, as needed at mealtimes.
· Assists in the preparation of food for cooking.
· Prepares and portions designated foods and beverages, including, but not limited to, coffee, salads, and desserts, according to instructions.
· Operates various kitchens appliances, including, but not limited to, steam table, coffee urns, buffet equipment, and dishwasher.
· Performs sanitation activities in all areas associated with the Dietary Department. Activities include, but are not limited to, cleaning and preparing serving areas, utensils, and dishes; sweeping and mopping kitchen area floors; disposing of trash; and performing other sanitation activities as prescribed by Management.
· Ensure that all residents are and will continue to receive care that reflects the goals and principles of resident-centered care.
· Punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma or GED required
· Six (6) months prior food service experience preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Food Handlers certificate
