Will County Executive Office
The Human Resources Assistant’s primary duties are directly related to management policies or general business operations of the County, County Executive, and/or Elected Officials. This position performs administrative and complex tasks and services related to the effective and efficient operations of the Department of Human Resources and the County. The Human Resources Assistant coordinates, participates, processes, and handles all Human Resources confidential administrative and complex tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations including, but not limited to complex document review and process of employment verifications. Assists with application inquiries and forms, background verification, education verification, annual training compliance, USCIS Form I-9, employee benefit/life event(s), EEO compliance, EEO-Plan, EEO compliance reporting and analysis, related reports and summaries, reviews, investigates, resolves and processes invoices and purchase orders in a timely manner.
Associate’s degree in related field required, bachelor’s degree (preferred), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum experience of 1 year performing responsible administrative duties in Human Resources. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excellent customer services skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task several projects. Human Resources certification, such as SHRM, SPHR, PHR or equivalent, preferred. A valid State of Illinois Driver’s License is required, and minimum automobile insurance as required by law.
