Rockford, IL – Chief Veterinarian

Winnebago County Animal Services is seeking a veterinarian with shelter medicine and spay/neuter experience to join our team as Chief Veterinarian. Our veterinarian works with our kennel team to provide high-quality medical care to shelter animals, including dogs, cats and other domestic animals. Our veterinarian provides spay/neuter, and necessary surgical treatment of various medical conditions, herd health oversight, and healthcare maintenance on shelter pets. Our veterinarian provides humane medical treatment of all animals seen in the shelter and will play a role in the maintenance of shelter protocols. Veterinarian splits time evenly between surgical and wellness/medical with surgery in the morning and other duties in the afternoon. Knowledge of and training in shelter medicine preferred. This position plays a vital role in saving lives daily!

Annual Salary: $150,000
