Pay Range:  The pay range for new hires in this position is $22.00 to $33.00 per hour. Offers are made within this range based on competencies, experience, and internal equity.

Part-time benefits for this 15-20 hours/week position include: flexible work hours, free use of park facilities, relaxed attire, and fun work environment. IMRF retirement plan participation may be considered.

Job Summary: Under direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager, assist with a variety of administrative tasks, projects, reports, and legal filings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

High level of skills using written communicate skills using proper grammatical form.
Proficient when communicating verbally in group and individual settings.
Ability to prioritize projects, plan, and accomplish goals.
Assist with recruiting and onboarding of employees.
Assist with employee benefit enrollment.
Maintain employee, training, and safety files and records in a logical and organized way.
Coordinate document destruction process.
Assist with processing and monitoring progress of worker’s comp claims, COBRA, and mandatory training schedule.
Assists with other related duties as assigned.
Complete all tasks in compliance with the District policies, safety rules, and the employee manual.
Seek additional responsibilities.
Support team members/pitch in to help others.
Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.

Qualifications: At least two (2) years of relevant work experience, High School diploma or equivalent, and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual in Spanish, some college, and human resource experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which the required knowledge, skills, and abilities can be applied.

Required Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple initiatives requiring confidentiality, prioritization, organization, and attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a fast paced work environment. Ability to adjust to change positively. Excellent software and computer skills.  Ability to prepare documents and solve practical problems with limited information and direction.  Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and community members. Deep personal dedication to public service and strong customer service skills.
