TRAFFIC ENGINEER I

As Traffic Engineer 1 you will play a key role in performing technical analyses, studies, and research involving the planning, operation and design of Village Transportation system.

As Traffic Engineer 1 you:

  • Plan traffic data collection including field work to gather information
  • Coordinate and review with other State and local agencies for transportation improvements
  • Work with other Village departments to provide comprehensive assessment and problem solving related to projects both in the office and in the field
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing plans for in-house projects including Village, State, and Federally funded work

COMPENSATION
2024 Salary Range of $81,316 – $115,468  Starting salary DOQ

Full benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance options, IMRF pension, 457 deferred compensation program, and more.

HOURS AND SCHEDULE
Full-time – 40 hours per week/8 hours per day
Monday – Friday between 8 a.m and 5 p.m.
(other hours may occasionally be necessary to fulfill the duties of the position)

WORK LOCATION
Onsite – Hoffman Estates, IL

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, Planning, or related field required.
  • Entry level to two years work experience.
  • Technical software specific to transportation planning, safety, traffic operations, analysis, AutoCAD, engineering design software, internet based updates of Village website; GIS
  • Illinois Class D Driver’s License is required.
