The City of Aurora is accepting applications for the position of Project Management Office (PMO) Manager in the Information Technology Department.

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the IT PMO Manager will oversee the governance and standards for executing IT projects. This individual is responsible for engaging with IT vendors, internal IT team, and stakeholders to evaluate requirements, validate business cases, prioritize and track projects, ensure conformance to PMO standards, review and communicate project status, etc. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining IT policies, tracking department key metrics, coordinating IT audits, and performing quarterly application and system access reviews among other activities.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Partner with operations and functional stakeholders to identify and evaluate business requirements; Prepare project charter and business case; Build and manage team of business analysts and project managers; Develop and maintain appropriate project governance standards and templates; Ensure PMO guidelines and protocols are followed appropriately; Drive adoption of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices; Define and measure project success metrics; Maintain IT standards, policies and procedures documentation; Other related duties as assigned.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines. This position also requires at least ten (10) years of work experience as a PM or Project Lead under a PMO structure. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a physical, drug screen, and background check.

This is a full-time executive level position. The salary range is $80,724.80 – $108,451.20 with starting rate dependent on experience and qualifications, but in most cases is no higher than the midpoint of the range.
