- Prosecuting/defending property damage subrogation cases.
- Negotiating the settlement of claims and lawsuits.
- Drafting settlement documents.
- Propounding/answering written discovery.
- Issuing and answering subpoenas.
- Taking/defending depositions.
- Monitoring and tracking cases.
- Drafting pleadings and motions.
- Appearing in court.
- Prosecuting/defending cases at mandatory arbitrations, pretrial conferences, and trial.
- Conducting legal research.
- Preparing and implementing case strategy.
- Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment but travel to Cook and its collar counties is required.
- Bachelor's degree and juris doctor degree.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and admitted to the Illinois State Bar.
- 5 years of previous work experience prosecuting and/or defending personal injury cases.
- Excellent reading comprehension, research, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and resourceful team player.
- Strong computer skills, including using Westlaw and proficient using Microsoft Office applications.
- Prior experience in jury trials.
