Job Summary/Purpose:

Currently seeking a responsible, friendly, and tactful individual to manage aquatic operations. Under the supervision of the Director of Recreation, the Aquatics Facility Manager oversees aquatic operations to provide quality swimming programs and services.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, schedule and manage a part-time staff to ensure sufficient coverage at the Water’s Edge Aquatics Center
• Must be willing to adjust schedule to fill any unfilled holes in the schedule.
• Some overlap of schedule to include weekend and evening hours to monitor and adequately train part-time aquatics personnel (lifeguards, swim instructors, fitness instructors, etc.)
• Ensure that staff wear appropriate uniforms and identification at all times.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversees and performs facility safety checks.
• Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of the aquatic facility; chemical balance, health code adherence, etc.
• Utilize effective team leadership skills; communicate efficiently and demonstrate strong listening capabilities.
• Promotes and schedules special events and aquatic programs.
• Responsible for some opening and closing shifts.
• Work with pool pumps and chemicals; take water quality samples and make adjustments.
• Schedules and oversees the annual maintenance and shut down of the facility.
• Perform guarding and instructional duties as needed.
• Handle money, operate, and abide by all facility point-of-sale and cash handling procedures.
• Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Exceptional customer service skills
• Prior experience working in the aquatic field and a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a leadership role.
• Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT Certification) or Safety Training for Swim Coaches
• First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (if current certification holder, please provide a valid copy of certification with application)
• Certified Pool Operator’s License (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator License (AFO).

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform the following basic life operational functions, climbing, balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20lbs.
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
• Must be able to hear and speak.

Work Environment:

•  Work is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting.
• Work is performed typically in a warm, wet, humid setting.
• Work is generally in a moderately noisy location.

SALARY:
The base salary hiring range for this role is $60,000 – $72,000 per year. The full salary range from the role is $60,000 – $84,000 per year.
