Seasonal Planning Intern

The Village of Downers Grove is seeking a Seasonal Planning Intern, who, under the direction of the AICP Planners, will be responsible for assisting with production of maps using GIS, permit review and inspections, and general office work, including scanning and filing of plans.

Major Duties and Functions:
– assist with permit review and inspections
– assist with the production of maps using GIS
– assist with development and site plan reviews
– assist with conducting on-site fieldwork
– assist with assist with ongoing departmental work responsibilities
– assist with general office work, including scanning and filing of plans
– Other related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications: At least two years of college completed; students majoring in Urban Planning or similar field are preferred. Computer skills with Word, Excel and GIS are required. Ability to work independently and work effectively in a team environment is required. A valid driver’s license is required.

Currently, the Village has the following openings:
– One (1) open position for a flexible 40 hours per week (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.; Monday through Friday).
– Position lasts for approximately three months.

Starting Wage: $17.00 per hour
