The position of Civil Engineer I plays a key role in performing engineering studies and assignments with responsibility for planning and conducting complete projects of limited scope and opportunities to collaborate on larger and more diverse projects.

As Civil Engineer I you will:

  • assist in reviews and inspections of infrastructure improvement operations and site development activities
  • work with your team mentors to conduct plan reviews and construction inspections
  • analyze a variety of data to determine requirements to meet engineering objectives and comply with all current codes, standards, best practices, and other criteria
  • use survey equipment to collect needed data
  • calculate design data; prepare layouts, details, specifications, and estimates; document and verify project quantities for construction work
  • assist with assembling project plans and bid packages

COMPENSATION
2024 Salary Range of $81,316 – $115,468
Starting salary DOQ

HOURS AND SCHEDULE
Full-time – 40 hours per week/8 hours per day                            Location:  Onsite/Hoffman Estates, IL
Monday – Friday between 7 a.m and 5 p.m.
(other hours may occasionally be necessary to fulfill the duties of the position)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
  • No prior work experience required; however previous Civil Engineering work experience (1 to 2 yrs) is preferred and will be considered.
  • AutoCad, Cartegraph and GIS software experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • Illinois Class D Driver’s License is required.
