As a Code Enforcement Officer you will keep the people of Hoffman Estates safe and ensure safe living conditions through enforcement of code regulations.  Code Enforcement Officers perform a variety of duties including conducting property maintenance and rental housing inspections, monitoring compliance, educating the community about code regulations, documenting violations and issuing citations.

A valid driver’s license is a requirement, as Code Officers routinely patrol the Village to inspect and monitor properties.

A love of learning is also key, as Code Officers must learn International Property Maintenance Code and obtain required certifications.

Code Enforcement Officers respond to and interact with residents, business & property owners, contractors, employees, and/or others within and outside the organization in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.

Work Schedule
Full-time – 40 hours per week
Monday – Friday 8 hours per day
Occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.

Compensation
Salary DOQ.
2024 hiring range of $31.3527/hr ($65,214annually) to $35.3377/hr ($73,502 annually)
