Plainfield, IL – Public Works Summer Seasonal Worker

Hourly Wage: $17.50

The Village of Plainfield’s Public Works Department is seeking hard-working and energetic applicants for temporary summer employment. This position is limited to working hours between May through August and is responsible for a variety of manual labor projects in the Public Works Department on a seasonal basis. This position will be expected to work 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.  Candidate must be willing to work occasional overtime, including weekends and holidays, if circumstances warrant.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma. Must have a valid Illinois drivers’ license. Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.  Applicant should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program of study.  This is considered a heavy duty position which requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.  Duties performed daily both in and outdoors under all weather conditions and include exposure to inclement weather, noise, traffic conditions, and exhaust.
